Mt Sinai Desert Challenge
Join us in this amazing challenge! And help to bring aid and compassion to some of the poorest people in the world.
The Sinai is a land of mystical contrasts. From small Bedouin shelters nestled in the barren mountains, to the resorts of the Red Sea dotted along the southern coast, this dry desert is also the location of Mount Sinai where Moses received the Ten Commandments.
So why not do something different and take up this challenge? Your support will help Missionary Ventures grow and together we can transform lives. Get a taste of what it must have been like for the Israelites to wander in the desert for 40 years!
The Challenge
Trekking across the desert to the top of Mt Sinai (7,500ft). By day you will follow the Bedouin guides up the mountains and across the wilderness. By night you will camp out under the stars. Camels will carry your luggage, and the Bedouin will cook your meals over an open fire in the traditional way.
The cost is £850 and it is a moderate grade challenge which involves trekking and some scrambling up steep slopes to watch the sunrise over Mount Sinai.
Missionary Ventures
Missionary Ventures has always been about encouraging involvement in the wider work of mission. By bringing together enthusiastic people in this country with indigenous leaders all over the world MV has been able to plant churches, train leaders and demonstrate God’s love through many vital projects such as establishing schools, feeding programmes and children’s centres.
