Description
There are no orphanages in the Zambezi valley and to provide an orphaned or vulnerable baby with the necessary Infant Milk Formula to grow and be healthy is IMPOSSIBLE for most families. One can of Formula to feed a baby for 7 days costs as much as a bag of maize-meal to feed 4 adults for 2 weeks. Many orphaned babies succumb to malnutrition. It is only through programs such as the Orphan Feeding Program that any of them have a hope for the future.

Care Givers for these babies are supplied with Milk Formula for as long as the baby needs it and a regular care package which includes nappies, blankets, baby clothes, toiletries and any required medication. Time is spent with the Care Giver discussing problems and giving advice about health.

Finance Required
Single gifts are gratefully received, however we are really looking for people ready to commit to a regular amount. This allows us to better plan for the future. Just to give you an idea:
£10 a month would buy Milk formula for one child.
£20 a month would provide immune boosting nutritional porridge for a 6months+ child.
£50 would provide vitamins, essential clothing and food for three orphaned or vulnerable babies.
Your money goes a long way in these countries.

Progress
As of September 2007 they are helping an amazing 31 orphans and vulnerable children, including 6 sets of twins! As they get more and more supporters the more children they can add to the program. If you would like to find read about some of the children they have alread helped or are helping please check out their website.

August 08 - 46 Orphans are presently on the feeding project, attending monthly clinics where they are weighed and given any medical treatments required. We were also amazed to find out that at this point over 200 babies have been helped by this program. Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers and support.
