Description
In Gulu, Northern Uganda, Missionary Ventures is helping to support orphaned children. Not just providing physical needs but also helping them into education; and the most important thing of all teaching and showing them the love of Christ.
Take Stephen for example. He is 9-years-old and has three sisters who all live in Gulu. Their parents John and Florence both died from HIV/Aids. After which he went to live with an Uncle. Stephen became sick and the Uncle claimed that the boy had Aids. Stephen was proven HIV negative and does not have Aids but the Uncle still used it as an excuse to abandon him to the care of his grandmother, Olga.
Olga is an amazing lady who cares for 11 orphans in her house of 19. She may not strictly be the grandmother to all these children, but they are all related to her in some way and have landed in her lap.
Grandmothers like Olga are facing old age with the unenviable task of bringing up their grandchildren as their own children without any financial assistance whatsoever.
Help us to help those that God has put across our path.
Missionary Ventures works through indigenous Christians and as our network grows in Uganda we find more and more of these situations. We want to help these Christian men and women look after the orphaned children they have taken in. You can make a large difference with a relatively small amount.
